What is Belly Dance?
It is the oldest form of dance, having roots in all ancient cultures from the orient to India to the mid-East. The term belly dance is actually a simplied term for a dance that involves the whole torso, especially the hips. Belly dance focuses on isolating different parts of the body in sensuous patterns to create a visual and emotional interpretation of the music. Although the Egyptian styling has been extensively studied in the United States, several different styles of belly dancing have grown enormously in popularity across the U. S. and worldwide as it continues to evolve.
